Success for Texels at WSSP Show & Sale in Moses Lake, WA

The Western Texel Sheep Producers were represented by Cooke Creek Sheep Co. from Ellensburg WA and Little Creek Lambs from La Grande, Oregon at the Washington State Ram & Ewe Show and Sale, July 15^th, 2006. Both farms consigned Purebred Texels to the Show and Sale. Cooke Creek took the top spots winning Grand Champion Ram and Reserve Champion Ram. Loineye scanning and backfat were measured by Bob Patacini out of Prosser, Wa. Bidding was brisk during the sale and Cooke Creek’s Yearling Ram took one of the highest selling ram prices at the entire event with the final bid at $550.00  For many buyers this was the first time they had laid their eyes on a Texel and they were impressed with all that muscle!
